CHIEF ENGINEER

We are recruiting for a Chief Engineer! New frontiers and rapid technological advancement make for an exciting time in broadcast engineering!

A minimum 3 years broadcast hands-on engineering experience.

Knowledgeable in the inspection, repair, and maintenance all radio broadcast station equipment, including transmitters, antenna’s, satellite downlinks, automation system, studio equipment, remote equipment, generators, telephone systems and related other electronic equipment.

Knowledge or a willingness to learn FCC Rules and Regulations.

IT & Network knowledge and experience a plus.

Maintaining and developing all technical aspects of a radio broadcast facility.

RADIO TRAFFIC SCHEDULING ASSISTANT

Saga Communications Milwaukee Media Group is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Radio Traffic Scheduling Assistant to join our team. In this vital on-site role, you will be responsible for managing commercial inventory, scheduling, and ensuring that all advertising spots are placed accurately and efficiently across our stations, including Milwaukee’s top-performing brands like Classic Rock 96.5 WKLHJammin’ 98.3 WJMR102.9 The Hog WHQG, Pure Oldies 106.9, and WJOI-AM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Inventory Management: Monitor and track commercial inventory, ensuring all spots are placed according to client agreements and timelines.
  • Spot Placement: Accurately schedule commercials within traffic software, ensuring optimal placement for maximum impact and audience reach.
  • Coordination with Sales and Programming Teams: Work closely with sales and programming to address changes, resolve scheduling conflicts, and ensure seamless on-air operations.
  • Daily Log Preparation: Prepare and review daily broadcast logs to confirm all advertisements are aired correctly and in compliance with station policies.
  • Post-Run Reporting: Generate post-broadcast reports to verify ad placements and assist in client billing reconciliation.
  • Problem Solving: Address any last-minute changes or discrepancies in the schedule efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in radio traffic, media scheduling, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with traffic software (e.g., Marketron or similar) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work on-site at our Milwaukee office.

The Promotions / Marketing Department is accepting resumes from college students interested and serious about crankin’ up their skill set while getting real-world experience from Milwaukee’s leading street team. Get your foot in the door and learn from the best!

You will represent our radio stations (102.9 THE HOG / 96.5 WKLH / Jammin’ 98.3 / Pure Oldies 106.9) to listeners at events, concerts, bars/clubs, festivals, etc!

Internships are available to all college levels or accredited broadcasting/media school programs. Hours are flexible, but we are in need of some seriously devoted folks. Applicants should be prepared to work mostly weekend and evening hours. While the position remains part-time, your job will look and feel different every day.
